Hope you enjoy this segment!
This weeks FFFF comes to you from Alaska where the crew from Fly Out Media capture some insane footage of big, angry rainbows crushing topwater mouse patterns. It has long been a dream of mine to throw mice at trout and hopefully someday I will have the opportunity to fulfill this dream. Maybe not in Alaska....but I can always dream!
Hope you enjoy this segment!
Giant Trevally are powerful fish that ferociously feed and put up a tough fight on a fly rod. Not only do they target bait-fish but have been known to feed on small birds, and as this video shows will even take bird flies made out of salvaged flip flops. Hope you enjoy this unique video and remember to have fun and be creative when you are out fly fishing. Maybe someday you will even be fortunate enough to catch a GT on a bird fly made of flip flops!
This week's Fly Fishing Film Friday is a video produced by us with Why Knot Fishing from our 2014 trip to western NY to fish for steelhead and trout. It was my first time out there and it was an amazing experience! We are posting it again now becuase we have that same trip coming up just before Thanksgiving. I cannot wait to meetup with some friends and spend 12 to 14 hours a day fishing. Stay tuned for a new video and post in the weeks to come!
I should mention that all fish in the video were successfully released unharmed!
This week's fly fishing film Friday features an awesome video by Yeti Coolers. Yeti recently released this piece about Mark Engler.
Engler is described as a guide's guide and developed the WD-40 fly among many others. This video captures some beautiful scenery and some amazing pike fly fishing!
Yeti also released an instructional video for the WD-40 fly. You can see Engler himself tie the fly and talk you through it below!
Hope you enjoy!
This weeks installment of FFFF highlights the elite Tarpon guides down in the Florida keys. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Silver Kings, it is a documentary style mini series following Bou Bosso and Rob Fordyce as they guide clients during tournament season down in the Keys. Silver Kings combines the thrill of tarpon fishing, the majestic scenery of the keys and the fun yet competitive tournament atmosphere. Season 1 was nothing short of spectacular and I cannot wait for the launch of the second season in January of 2016.
It has long been a dream of Ben and I to fish for tuna on the fly. Today's FFFF is full of churning water, screaming drag, and bent rods as Capt. Rob Fordyce and crew chase tuna behind a shrimp boat. We hope to have the chance to target these powerful fish soon , but until then videos like this will have to do!
For this edition of Fly Fishing Film Fridays we bring you a very creative short film about the growth of streamer fishing in Montana. If you have ever seen one of those shows about drug trafficking on the Discovery Channel you will enjoy this video!
